Performance
The 2024 Subaru Solterra comes in three trims, all three of which pair the Subaru brand’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive with two electric motors and a 72.8-kWh battery pack for an output of 215 horsepower and 249 lb-ft of torque. The EPA-estimated driving range is 227 miles on the Subaru Solterra Premium trim and 222 miles for the other two trims. Driving Mode Select with ECO, Normal, and Power modes lets you further customize your performance.
Charging
If you thought charging was fast on the 2023 Subaru Solterra, you haven’t seen anything yet. This year’s model integrates an upgraded charging system that allows the 2024 Subaru Solterra to be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in around 35 minutes, which cuts last year’s charging time almost in half. Moreover, this new Subaru EV boasts faster cold-weather charging, to the tune of twice as fast at 32 degrees and four times faster at 14 degrees when compared to the 2023 model.
Safety
Not only is the 2024 Subaru Solterra one of the most reliable vehicles in its class, it’s also one of the safest. Two focal points are the standard DriverFocus® distraction mitigation system and the EyeSight® Driver Assist suite. The latter adds two new cutting-edge technologies this year: traffic jam assist, which supports hands-free driving in low-speed traffic, and lane-change assist, monitors surrounding traffic to make changing lanes safer and easier.
