OUTBACK - Ruggedly capable, incredibly driveable
The new 2010 Subaru Outback has what it takes to fill you with confidence on journey. If the road gets rough, 4-wheel independent suspension with class-leading ground clearance will help you take it on. The 2010 Outback features a double wishbone design rear suspension and improved wheel articulation to combine smooth-riding comfort with inspiring responsiveness.

OUTBACK - Lineartronic CVT
Lineartronic CVT is now available on the Subaru Outback 2.5i models. It not only saves you gas money, it reduces your carbon footprint. This innovative technology infinitely adjusts the transmission to match your acceleration needs - maintaining the optimal rev range at all times. The need to shift is removed and vehicle momentum is preserved, thereby reducing fuel consumption.

OUTBACK - Get Out There. Fit it in Here.
From mountain bikes to water bottles, the all new Subaru Outback is better equipped than ever to conveniently load all the gear that goes along with embracing your adventurous side. Keep more items conveniently at hand with an array of compartments, pockets and holders. The underfloor cargo-area storage compartment keeps valuables safely and discreetly stowed.

OUTBACK Ecology
The Outback has been certified by the EPA as among the cleanest
and most fuel- efficient vehicles available. This EPA certification is
earned when evaluating  both air pollution and greenhouse gas
emissions. The Subaru Outback was the highest-rated small SUV
in the EPA's Green Vehicle Guide. The Outback is a partial zero
emissions vehicle and it has earned NHTSA's five-star crash-test rating.

Outback vehicles are produced along with Legacy and B9 Tribeca at the Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. plant in Lafayette, Indiana. The plant recently received the EPA's Gold Achievement Award as a top achiever in the agency's WasteWise program.

Just a little bit on AWD. Even though it is best known for its ability to conquer bad weather, the reality is that when the roads are dry, AWD can help save your life: when you make a sudden turn or swerve, AWD grips the pavement better than front- or rear-wheel-drive meaning you are less likely to lose control and more likely to avoid an accident. AWD - All Wheel Drive/All Weather Drive.

The 2010 Outback 2.5i CVT now exhibits better fuel economy than Toyota Venza, Volvo XC70, VW Passat, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Ford Explorer. With its unique Boxer engine, segment-leading 8.7 inches of ground clearance, standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and fold-away roof rack crossbars, the all-new Subaru Outback raises the bar in the crossover segment.

Insurance Institute for Highway safety states Subaru is the only manufacturer with a winner in all
4 vehicle classes in which it competes. On the 5 Subaru 2010 models, Subaru earned 5 awards.

"I was never one to stay boxed in for very long, whether it be in my back yard as a child, or in my office space as an adult, I feel the constant need to get out and find what excitement and adventure awaits. The outdoors is my playground, and I'm the type of person who likes to push the limits of my internal compass at home, and out in nature.

My car allows me to be myself. I'd rather sleep under the stars than under my roof. To me, any new experience is something worth trying. I want to discover what's on the other side of the trail, the mountain, see where the earth goes when it curves out of sight.

That's why I love the new Outback. It's got a larger interior, a more powerful engine, and when I'm done exploring, it gets me back home. Plus it's built in a zero landfill plant, helping to keep the world beautiful. The Outback is adventurous, rugged and tough. Just like me.

Truthfully, I was looking at the Volvo XC70, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Toyota Venza, but only the Subaru Outback was able to fuel my passion to get out there and blaze my own trails."
